Read. Listen. Think. Respond

Will Ferrell and Moveon.org get spoofed by the Catholics!  It’s about time that the religious right used rational humor to attack, — this has worked so well for the left — SNL used it to destroy Sarah Palin….. maybe by playing their own game, Americans who disagree with the “Public-option/Single Payer” system will win this fight.  We can only hope!

Sad but True Small Business Humor

It is a rare occasion when I will pass on funnies, yet every once in a while a gem will come along that just has to reach as many people as possible.  Today is that day.  Calling all small business owners, could this be the ticket.

As received via email:

LETTER FROM THE BOSS…..

As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our President, and that our taxes, and government fees will increase in a BIG way. To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%.

Since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off six of our employees instead. This has really been bothering me, since I believe we are family here and I didn’t know how to choose who would have to go.

So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lot and found six  Obama bumper stickers on our employees’ cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go.. I can’t think of a more fair way to approach this problem. They voted for change; I gave it to them.  Obama can take care of them.

I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic

      Seems fair to me.

The Best Bumper Sticker

Let’s hope that enough people on the fence about Obama’s performance read this and wake up to the fact that 53% of Americans made a huge mistake!

Pledge of Allegiance

Red Skelton is not someone that I would consider at the forefront of history.  Those of us born after 1970 probably have little understanding of who he was or the type of comedy he performed.  Political/Cultural satire mostly, and from what I can gather his target audience was WWII vets – conservatives of their time.  In 1969 he did a skit on the “Pledge of Allegiance” which I think rings true to everything we need to ourselves remember, to teach our children, and to remind our governing body.  We the people, and our Allegiance makes this country what it is!
